Stephanie Henriques (she/her/ella) is social services strategist, licensed social worker, and doula focused on safety and thriving. She currently serves as a Deputy Director at the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) on behalf of The City of New York.
 
Stephanie is a dynamic psychotherapist with a keen ability to compassionately identify key factors that significantly affect the lives of the communities that she serves. Stephanie is passionate about wellness and supporting her clients in reaching their goals and “living their best lives”. Her extensive training in perinatal mental health allows her to support emerging families in navigating the joy and challenges that come along with parenthood. She endeavors to ensure that all of those that she works with in a therapeutic space feel seen, heard, and held. Her approach to clinical work is eclectic and trauma-informed, inclusive of research-supported techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, play, and person-centered therapies. 
 

A licensed social worker by trade with over 15 years of experience, Stephanie approaches social services with a focus on equity. She has a track record of success working with children and families beginning with prenatal care and birth. She works across the health and human services continuum in service of families, including parent support, evidence-based child welfare practices, clinical models for mental health, physical wellness, and nutrition, as well as education advocacy and supporting entitlement connections (Medicaid, WIC, Public Assistance, housing, etc). She has experience in program design, program management, evaluation, and continuous improvement. In addition to being a social worker, Stephanie is a birth justice advocate and is certified as a doula, childbirth educator, and lactation consultant.

Deeply committed to public service, Stephanie has held various roles across the health and human services continuum. Stephanie holds a Master’s in Social Welfare from Stony Brook University and an undergraduate degree in Public (Community) Health Education from SUNY – Potsdam. She is currently based in the greater NYC area.
